First Supercar Saturday of 2013

Supercar Saturdays have started again and May's event was quite impressive. It was not as packed as some events in the past, but that was probably because of the risk of rain and that it was the first one of 2013. As you can see below, there was more than enough to keep me busy.

Tuner Galleria Wrap-up

I've been going to Tuner Galleria since 2010, when it started as a small section in the World of Wheels show in Chicago. With the huge increase in modified imports over the past two decades, it makes sense to add a car show that focuses on something besides Detroit Iron. I screwed up by forgetting to post the pictures from last year's show. The pictures from last year and the 2013 show are now online.

Cars from AutoMass Round 2

Round 2 of AutoMass was over the weekend. My main reason for going was the car show, but the drifting was not bad at all. There weren't a huge amount of cars on display, but they were generally pretty good cars. The view of the drifting was not too great if you were late, like I was. I plan to go for the VIP ticket next time. There were many nice Nissan Zs and Infiniti Gs. On the FWD side, there were plenty of nice Hondas. There was even a RHD Civic coupe that was there.

Pictures from FNL Saturdays - September 8, 2012

Last weekend was the last FNL Saturday of the year. JDM Chicago's decision to move to Saturdays was risky, but is worked out to be easier on people's schedules and the venue had much more room for the hundreds of cars. The Acura NSX was the nicest looking car there. There were plenty of nice imports out though. You can see all the pics here.

Pictures from Supercar Saturdays - Septemeber 1, 2012

The final Supercar Sunday of the year was last week. The supercar season went out with a bang though. The Bugatti Veyron was the the star, but I was never much of a fan of the jelly-bean shape of that car. One of the cleanest pro touring Camaros I have ever seen was at this show. A couple of red Toyotas also stood out to me. The older cars, like the Celica and Cressida, are very impressive because just because they are so rare (especially in that condition). I think next year is going to even better because the shows were much more organized this year. You can see all of my pics here, but some of my favorites are below.

FNL Saturdays - July 21, 2012

JDM Chicago's Friday Night Lights was different this month because it was at a new location, but it was also on a different day. The location, Arlington Toyota and Scion, had much more parking than the previous location, and this meet was on Saturday instead of Friday. Both changes seemed to work out because the lot started to fill way earlier than I expected.

Early on, I saw a 240SX Fastback and Corolla GT-S that really represented the spirit of JDM in the US. The majority of the cars there were Japanese, but there was a pretty good mix. Pictures from Supercar Saturdays - July 7, 2012

Last weekend was another Supercar Saturday. This one was back at The Promenade in The Promenade and sponsored by Chicago Motor Cars. I really liked that Chicago Motor Cars brought a Mercedes-Benz SLS. Since the cars are so rare, I haven't seen many of them even after many car shows. There were few nice Acura NSXs, but the one that really stood out was the wild neon green NSX. This sleeper 1972 Nova is probably at the other end of the spectrum because plain looks and insane power. My favorite supercar of the day was probably the black Lamborghini Aventador that was driving around. I didn't get too much time to see it because it wouldn't stay still though. The pics below are mainly supercars, but there were plenty of other nice cars there too.
